Youth Ministry Leader: Ian Weeks

My name is Ian Weeks and I was born and raised here in Ojai. I've been involved in youth ministry at OVCC since 2005 and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I've always had a heart for youth ministry, and the more I work with high school and junior high students, the more I am certain that this is the way I want to serve the Lord and our church.

The youth program at OVCC is how I came to know and love God. The ministry has always been such a close family that I've been so thankful to be apart of. I really believe that talking and sharing ideas about Jesus in a comfortable environment that's fun as well as intellectual is the best way for students to build and grow in their relationship with God and others in the community. This is something I am very passionate about, and I am always striving to find some way to help students have a great time and know that God is Love.

Youth Ministry Leaders: Tim and Nicki Beckett

Tim grew up on the streets of Ojai, on the 400 block of Shady Lane where he was part of a gang. Well, it was really a group of friends that had rights of passages and did some occasional minor property damage, but hey it's a gang to some. Tim was raised at OVCC through the 80s and 90s with his mother and three brothers, but it wasn't until his sophomore year in high school that he made a commitment to Jesus independent of his parent's personal faith, and since then has been committed to seeing the youth of Ojai come to know the Jesus expressed in the New Testament Scriptures.

On September 9, 2007, he chose to marry a woman who completed him and made him a better person. She is Nicki Beckett, and she is pretty awesome. She was born in Oklahoma and therefore is a fan of the Sooners, but her love for her husband has made her a die-hard Lakers fan, so they get along pretty well. She attended Church of the Living Christ through her youth and grew to a relationship with Jesus differently than her husband. You should ask her about it. Nicki is currently working with OVCC's Junior and Senior High Ministries; listening to, advising, and engaging the youth of Ojai when she isn't organizing the guest groups at Forest Home Ojai Valley. Tim is currently working at Casa Pacifica in Camarillo, but if he is not there, you can find him selling doughnuts on Sundays or substitute teaching at the Junior High and High School in Ojai.

Office Manager: Maria David

My name is Maria David, I have a B.B.A. in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University where I also met my husband Galen. I'm the proud mother of four children - Dominique, Kiko, Jake and Shawnna. When not working in the church office, I'm a part-time Zumba instructor having fun dancing my way to fitness with students from all around the Ojai Valley. My favorite pastimes include reading, knitting and snow sports.

Deposit Clerk: Sharon Smith

My name is Sharon Smith, I'm married to Brian and have a son Gavin, whom I think is the greatest. I work part-time as the deposit clerk for OVCC, and I also work part-time for Second Coat Furniture Revamping. I enjoy watching recycled (otherwise forgotten) furniture be reused. I am a Makeup Artist / Esthetician by trade, but chose the flexibility of part-time work to be able to stay home with Gavin. I Love old black-and-white movies and candy. A perfect day for me would be a sunny day in Santa Barbara with Brian and Gavin hanging out on the beach or enjoying a boat ride in the harbor.
