provides parents with a quality educational program. Christian values
and perspectives are at the core of all curricula, whether secular or
religious. The characteristics we aspire to are love, truth and
integrity. We promote development of the mind and heart. Our students
should think, judge and act in ways that are in keeping with the
teachings of Jesus Christ. We strive to establish learning experiences
that assist each student in becoming a responsible and productive member
of our community and society overall. Church of The Living Christ is the

Precept
Bible Study
Ministry
Leader: Darian O’Brien (649.4222)
Precept.
The goal of
Precept Ministries is to establish people in God’s word so that they
might:
§
Live as exemplary followers of Jesus Christ.
§
Study the bible inductively (for themselves).
§
View the world biblically.
§
Serve the church faithfully in the power of The Holy Spirit.
To that end, OVCC
partners with Precept Ministries in offering their well-written
materials for a ladies bible study. We’re currently studying the Book of
Hebrews. What makes Precept bible studies so rich and rewarding is that
the truth of the word of God is at the core of every lesson. The student
doesn’t merely read God’s word but studies it intently by observing the
text, cross-referencing and completing Greek and Hebrew word studies.
The group comes together to discuss the week’s homework and to reason
through the scriptures. The class culminates with a teaching video from
Precept Ministries on that week’s particular lesson. The study requires
approximately 5 hours of homework study each week.
The Hebrew’s study
will end in early June 2005 and a new study will resume in September.
When:
Thursday’s,
9:15 AM to 11:30 AM
Where:
Leis Hall

Adult Education
(Sunday School)
Ministry Leader:
Kurt
Sowa (646.9817)
Vision.
Our vision
is to educate adults in the Word of God and to apply the Scriptures to
our everyday lives.
Goal.
Our goal is
to reach out to more adults within the congregation and educate them
about the Word of God.
Belief.
The world
today can be a confusing, frustrating, and intimidating place. To feel
secure in such an environment requires that we get to know God and learn
to discern truth from fiction. Spending time in the Word of God and
studying the examples provided by Scripture helps us to know God, His
character, His truth, and His love. It is our belief that as people
gain a better understanding of the Bible, as Christians, they’ll be
better equipped to deal with the day-to-day issues confronting them.
When.
Sunday
mornings, 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM
Where.
Leis Hall
For more information
on the Sunday school program, please contact Kurt Sowa via email at
