We would like you to meet
Pastor Paul Bergmann, his wife Kathy, their
four children: Nicole,
Joshua and Jared and Gracie. Paul accepted the position of Senior Pastor at
Ojai Valley Community Church on February 1, 1998, after 10 years as a
national speaker for Sports World
Ministries. Paul is a first
generation American; his parents and sister were born and raised in what was
the Dutch East Indies and is now Indonesia. Paul grew up in the San Fernando
Valley of Los Angeles and attended Granada Hills High School. He was
introduced to football and ended up on the receiving end of two-time Super
Bowl Champion, John Elway. That led to an athletic scholarship to UCLA where
in his junior and senior year he led the Bruins to back-to-back Rosebowl
Championships. He was selected All-American and was awarded UCLA's N.N.
Sugarman award for leadership. Far more rewarding then Rosebowls was Paul
yielding his life to Jesus Christ while at UCLA and meeting his wife, Kathy.
He went on to play four years of professional football before joining the
ministry team at Sportsworld. Using the platform of athletics, Paul was able
to speak to more than one million young people and adults across the United
States, sharing the message of hope and a life changing relationship through
Jesus Christ. |
